Let’s work together

The Biomedical Science Research Building (BSRB)
109 Zina Pitcher Pl, Room 2037, Ann Arbor, MI 48109

We are always looking for enthusiastic colleagues on both the computational and experimental sides!

  • Graduate Student

Prospective graduate students are encouraged to apply through the UMich PIBS Program and indicate their interest in our lab. Many of our students choose from these three PIBS programs: Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, and Molecular & Cellular Pathology. Prospective graduate students can also apply through the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program, with an interest in Computation or Molecular Engineering. The virtual webinar of the BME PhD program could be found here.

For current graduate students interested in doing a rotation, please email Dr. Yang Xiao (yangxa at umich.edu) with your CV and a brief statement of research interests.

  • Postdoctoral Fellow

We are seeking applicants for postdoctoral positions in employing novel spatial technologies to solve biological problems, including spatial changes in traumatic brain injury or gene regulatory mechanisms of brain function. Candidates with a strong background in single-cell and spatial biology, bioinformatics, cell and molecular biology, microfabrication, digital pathology, computational neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, biostatistics, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Please send an email to Dr. Yang Xiao (yangxa at umich.edu) directly with your CV, a brief description of your research interests, background, and future plans. Explain why you feel as a good fit would help in evaluating your application. Please also provide contact information of three references.

  • Research Lab Specialist

This is a full-time research staff position. Experience with single-cell and spatial computational analysis, animal surgery, cellular and molecular biology, genetics and epigenetics, and imaging processing is highly valuable, but not required. Please email Dr. Yang Xiao (yangxa at umich.edu) directly with your CV and contact information of three references.
